Tooth Extraction (Cabutan)

Tooth extraction is performed when a tooth is severely damaged, causing pain, or posing a risk to oral health. At KPSA, every extraction is done using safe techniques to ensure the procedure is quick and as comfortable as possible.

Types of Extractions at KPSA

  1. Normal Extraction
    Standard removal of a loose or easily accessible tooth.
  2. Difficult Extraction (Non-surgical / Splitting)
    For strong, broken, or complicated teeth that may need sectioning before removal.
  3. Surgical Removal – Embedded Teeth
    Minor surgery to remove teeth that are embedded and cannot be removed conventionally.
  4. Surgical Removal – Impacted Teeth
    Removal of teeth that are trapped under gum or bone, such as impacted wisdom teeth.
  5. Minor Oral Surgery – Specialist
    Complex oral surgery performed by a specialist clinician.
  6. Prosthetic Surgery / Bone Alveoplasty
    Reshaping the jawbone after extraction to prepare for dentures or prosthetics.
  7. Suture (Stitching)
    Suturing after surgery to support healing.
  8. Additional LA Injection
    Extra local anesthesia if required to ensure comfort.

Aftercare

  • Gently bite on gauze for 30–45 minutes.
  • Avoid strong rinsing for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid hot or hard foods; start with soft foods.
  • Apply ice to the cheek to reduce swelling.
  • Follow prescribed medication and instructions.
